The Parlor Class from 10:45 am-12:00 noon.

Has something ever happened in your life that you were really concerned about? Have you wondered “Why, Lord?” Have all your “issues” been resolved? Are you still wondering? Our Sunday School class is now trying to get questions answered through help from Dr. Henry Cloud and The Bible and frank discussion from class members. Join us to listen, think and discuss each week for about a month of heartfelt topics and life situations.

Disciples and Devotions for adults meets in Room 6 in the Education wing at 10:30-11:00 for an uplifting discussion.

Women’s Bible Study

Ladies, join us in the parlor on Tuesday evenings beginning March 5 for a six week study of “Jesus: Understanding His Death and Resurrection.” No need to purchase a book, but bring your Bible as we study Mark 14-16 and consider all that Jesus endured to bring forgiveness to sinners and hope to
the hopeless.

Maize Manor Mission

Maize Market

April 13, 2019 11:00-1:00

The Market, in combination with our Walk-In Closet, will be held the second Saturday of each month, rain or shine, throughout the year. Let family, friends and neighbors know about this event if they are interested in receiving free produce. Each family will get 20-40 pounds of food.

The markets need volunteers to assist in running the busy events on Saturdays, 9:45 am until 1:30 pm. We appreciate everyone’s assistance with this valuable community program.

Sorting the Closet

We need help to sort clothing on the first Thursday of each month, 5:30-6:30 pm. As we catch up on donations, during February we will be collecting clothes for men, teens, and children, along with winter coats and gloves. and coats for all ages and genders. Thank you for your contributions and help with sorting.

Pop Tabs for Ronald McDonald House

Please save your pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. They collect thousands of tabs from pop cans, soup cans, cat food, and anything that has a tab. This is their biggest fundraiser and all the money stays in Columbus, going back to the house to help the parents of sick children. Susie Blessing or Lee Eichensehr will collect your tabs at any time or drop them by the church office.

Pat’s Pillowcase Ministry

Saturday, March 30, 10 am-2pm

Pat’s Pillowcase Ministry meets every month that has a fifth Sunday. Next session will be in March. Join us for fun, food, and warm fuzzies. The pillowcases are taken to Ronald McDonald House and each child admitted for treatment gets their own age-appropriate pillowcase to keep. It’s a small gesture that means much to a sick child.

Christian Education

The Easter Bunny needs your help to fill plastic eggs with small individually wrapped candy – 5,000 eggs are being planned. We will be collecting donations through the month of March in the baskets located in the Narthex and by Fellowship Hall.

Children’s Worship

At 10:30 children are invited to join Linda Fabbro for music in the Choir Room. Come and sing old time favorite VBS songs and have some fun.

During the 11:00 Worship, children, preschool through 5th grade, may stay with their parents until Pastor Ryan calls for them to come forward. After a prayer, children are dismissed to follow the teachers for large group worship in the Sanctuary, followed by small group in Room 515

Oakland Nursery gift cards

Children and youth who attend a United Methodist Church Camp get to make new friends, experience God’s love and grow in their faith. You can help young people from Maize Manor attend this summer by purchasing Oakland Nursery gift cards before purchasing your garden and lawn needs. The gift card table has $25 cards available with $5 of each card purchased going to help fund a camper.

Hospital Visitation Team – This group connects with people who are undergoing hospitalization for surgical procedures, illness, and birth of a baby.

Long-Term Care Visitation Team – This group connects with people who are residents of long-term care facilities and have limited mobility and cannot come to church.

Home-Bound Care Visitations Team – This group connects with people who are largely confined to their homes by illness or infirmity and cannot come to church.

Communion Visitation Team -This group brings communion to people on the first Sunday of each month after the elements have been blessed during the morning services. Only people who request to have communion brought to them will receive this service.

The Care Team also has members who make phone calls to check on church members, and send cards.

The Care Team is looking for more volunteers to serve on any of the before mentioned teams. Should you be interested please contact our Care Team Coordinator, Jerry Eberlyn

Helping Hands

Do you ever wonder what our Helping Hands ministry does? Think you might like to volunteer but not sure what you’d be getting yourself into?

Helping Hands provides meals for church family members after a funeral or service. It’s just like cooking at home for your family. We have a set menu, so there’s no guess work. There is a crew that sets up the tables, then arranges the napkins and silverware – just like at home. Food is pulled from the oven or refrigerator and put out for serving – just like at home. And just like at home, there are dishes to wash! Following these meals, families offer many thanks and words of gratitude. We provide a very appreciated service – just like at home!

There is no set schedule for your helping hands. We step in when needed. Helping Hands always needs volunteers. so if you could offer your hands, please give Lee your name.

Visit the Gift Card Table

Thank you to all who purchase gift cards and use their Kroger cards with a percentage coming back to Maize Manor. The total added to the General Fund for last year’s rebate programs was $4,400 (Kroger $826.22 and Scrip $3573.78). $10 gift cards are still available from Christmas for Target, Walmart and Meijers. The new $10 card on the table is for Dunkin Donuts. There is a new Dunkin Donut store at the corner of Maize and Morse. You may place orders for cards that you do not see on the table by asking for an order form. Pat orders cards on the first and third Sunday of each month–to be picked up the following Sunday.
